Southern Kaduna council lauds Tinubu for approving FMC in Kafanchan

The Southern Kaduna Leadership Council (SKLC) has commended President Bola Tinubu for approving the establishment of a Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Kafanchan.

The Chairman, Darey Akau, told newsmen in Kafanchan on Friday that the medical centre would bring healthcare services closer to the people.

Akau said that the approval of the centre was a clear testimony of Tinubu’s interest to improve the healthcare needs of the people.

“For a long time, our people have been spending hugely because they must travel to Jos, Zaria and even Abuja to access medical services,” he said.

The SKLC chairman said that the people of Southern Kaduna had expected the establishment of a federal medical centre in the area for a long time.

“We are very happy that a team from the Federal Government has come to inspect the site. We thank the president for making this possible.

“Apart from its importance to the healthcare needs of our people, the facility will also be of positive impact on the local economy.

“Our people will save more money because they won’t travel far to access healthcare services. The money saved can be invested here,” he said.

Akau urged the Federal Government to tackle insecurity in the area and rehabilitate all the roads leading into Southern Kaduna.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the FMC is expected to take off within the next six months.
