Activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore is trending on X after accepting a challenge from Prophet Umueke Miracle of Dynamic Flame of Fire and Miracle Ministries, Port Harcourt.
The cleric threw down the challenge after Sowore dismissed claims by Nigerian pastors that they perform real miracles.
In a recent interview, Sowore recounted how his father’s condition worsened after attending a crusade for healing from a stroke.
“All of us know that all these religious people are fake. I have never seen a church that made a cripple walk before,” he said, arguing that religion thrives in Nigeria because of poor governance.
Prophet Miracle, reacting to Sowore’s statement, accused him of attacking the Christian faith. Addressing his congregation, he challenged the activist to bring a stroke patient to his church, vowing to shut down his ministry if the person was not healed.
He gave Sowore until April 4 to take up the test.
Sowore has now accepted the challenge but redirected it, urging the prophet to visit the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital’s stroke ward instead.
“I have accepted the challenge and would ask the pastor to move his ministry to the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital stroke ward and clear out the place,” he wrote on Facebook.
The exchange has since sparked debates on X, with many weighing in on the controversy.
