Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has insinuated that that travails of activist, Omoyele Sowore, are self-inflicted.
The Federal Government, on Friday, filed seven counts of treasonable felony and money laundering against Sowore.
In a series of tweets on Saturday, Mr Omokri said that Sowore had been instrumental in the defeat of President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015.
“2-I sympathise with Sowore, but I cant help but feel that his travails are self inflicted. I know his nature. He will come out of jail, read this, and use saharareporters to savage my reputation. But even at that, he created the @MBuhari Frankenstein monster# SoworeandBuhari,” he wrote.
Omokri also accused the #RevolutionNow convener of running propaganda for President Buhari.
He, however, called for Sowore’s freedom.
Mr Sowore is charged alongside Olawale Bakare popularly known as Mandate.

In the charges instituted against the defendants, Sowore and his co-defendant are accused of conspiring to remove the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Sowore is also accused of money laundering in breach of section 15(1) of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act.
The charges were filed a day before the expiration of the detention order permitting the Department of State Service to keep him for 45 days.
