Days after his release from detention, singer Speed Darlington has alleged that he was targeted in a shooting while driving.

In an Instagram post on Monday, Darlington shared footage of his car, showing bullet holes in the rear.

He also displayed bullets he claimed were removed from his vehicle, thanking the police officers who were present at the scene.

“Thank God for security personnel; the guy would have come closer. I heard gunshots coming at our direction when I was leaving the club in Victoria Island,” Darlington said.

He also suggested that the shooting was a deliberate attempt to silence him.

“The bullets may be local, but they’re still bullets. I haven’t even said anything yet, and they’re already panicking. They’ve already sent killers after me. This is crazy. The police officers here witnessed the shooting too—there must be truth in what I’m saying, judging by how he’s reacting,” Darlington continued.

In his post’s caption, he wrote, “Long face send killers my way and I haven’t even posted anything.”

The incident comes on the heels of a series of dramatic events in Darlington’s life.

On October 4, 2024, he was arrested after releasing a video where he allegedly mocked Burna Boy, associating him with American rapper Diddy, who has been embroiled in legal battles with the FBI over charges related to sex trafficking and other crimes.

Following his release, Darlington was rearrested on November 27, 2024, during a performance in Owerri.

He spent two months in detention before being granted bail at the Federal High Court in Abuja, with the court setting the amount at twenty million naira.
