Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has been given a grand welcome by fans of his South African club Chippa United after his exploits at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) held recently in Cote d’Ivoire.
Videos and photos of the heartwarming reception given to the 27-year-old went viral on social media on Wednesday.
A stunned Nwabali appreciated them for showing him love despite concerns he would be received with hostility following the Super Eagles’ encounter with the Bafana Bafana of South Africa at the AFCON semi finals.
Amid the alleged threats made to him, Chippa United stood behind their player and wished him well.
