The Lagos State Government has expressed its shock over the sudden death of Special Adviser to the Governor on Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives, Deji Tinubu.
Tinubu slumped while playing five-a-side football match with fellow participants at the ongoing retreat of members of the state executive council and permanent secretaries at the Jubilee Chalets, Epe.
“We are still in shock, Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Kehinde Bamigbetan, said in a statement on Friday.
“All of us at the State Executive Council is in disbelief.
“He was a good and committed patriot who brought his passion to his job.
“He was a gentleman who maintained excellent team spirit. We shall miss him.”
A renowned sports lover, Tinubu was particularly passionate about football.
He was a popular presenter and recently headed the state’s Sports Commision.
Deji is survived by an aged mother, Bintu Tinubu and wife, Yemisi.
