Police Public Relations Officer, Dolapo Badmos, has adviced Nigerians to stop living their lives by social media, describing it as a fictitious place.
In a lengthy post to Instagram on Thursday, Badmos narrated how he saw a guy on her journey to UAE (United Arab Emirate), taking a picture on a business class seat while he boarded the flight for on economy class seat.
She added that her curiosity made her ask him why he did so and “He responded mama you don’t know what’s up, it’s called flexing. When I post this picture on gram, they will hail me that I’ve arrived.”
Badmos went on to advise people not to believe what they see on social media, stating that many could end up behind bars as a result.
“If you take a cue from everything you see on social media and want to be like that, you may end up behind bars.”
She added: “Most of those things are not real, don’t go out of your way to commit crime just to be like someone else…..those hailing you won’t be there when the chips are down.”
