Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh, has disclosed that he is financially handicapped and unable to fully carry out his duties.
Oliseh, 41, who is being owed backlog of salary by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), lamented that he is yet to receive approval for funds proposed for travelling abroad and contacting players ahead of the African Nations Cup qualifier against Egypt.
“I am struggling financially, waiting for approvals to move around Europe,” the former national team skipper told Brila FM on Saturday.
He added: “So it has been quiet. It has to do with transport, accommodation and other expenses while moving out.
“I need to spend 15, 20 minutes on the phone to speak to each player before he is invited.”
Meanwhile, the gaffer hinted that he is considering the prospect of inviting Manchester City starlet, Kelechi Iheanacho, for the clash with the Pharaohs.
Iheanacho, 19, has been in blistering form for the Citizens scoring nine goals thus far and Oliseh has revealed that the youngster is his plans.
“I have not sent out my list of invited players yet. But with the kind of goal he came on to score (for Manchester City against Tottenham) recently I am looking very much at him.
“In fact I hope to move up to Manchester, but I am just waiting on some little things to be sorted out then we will have that done.”
@mightyng Sunday, tell it to the marines
