A suicide bomber who rammed his vehicle into a military check point in Bajoga, Gombe State on Tuesday failed in his mission when the explosives on him refused to go off.
His attempt to escape was also aborted as he was killed by soldiers when he tried to flee after hitting an Armoured Personnel Carrier.
The suicide bomber planted the Improvised Explosive Device in a Honda car.
The explosives, which failed to detonate, have been evacuated and handed to the police, a statement by the Director of Defence Information, Major General Chris Olukolade, said on Wednesday.
