Minister of sports and youth development Sunday Dare and president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Amaju Pinnick have come under criticism on social media following Nigeria’s loss to Ghana in the FIFA World Cup qualifying match on Tuesday night in Abuja.
Both teams played out a goalless draw in Kumasi last Friday. But the Super Eagles crashed out on away goal rule on Tuesday after the game ended 1-1.
Angry fans had invaded the pitch in Abuja, destroying facilities in the stadium.
On social media, Nigerians also expressed disappointment over the outcome of the match, calling particularly for the resignation of Mr Pinnick.
