Former Nigeria international Sunday Oliseh is set to take over as head coach of German club SV Straelen.
The club’s president Hermann Tecklenburg said the 47-year-old has already signed a one-year contract to handle the side and will start work this week.
“Yes, Sunday Oliseh will be our new coach,” Tecklenburg was quoted as saying by WAZ.
“A good 14 days ago we had delicious asparagus at the Straelener Hof. That was a good conversation.
“In the last 24 hours, we were also able to discuss an employment contract until June 30, 2023.”
The North Rhine-Westphalia-based side feature in the Regionalliga West league (fourth division).
Oliseh’s last managerial stint was at Fortuna Sittard in the Netherlands, whom he joined on December 27, 2016, but he was fired on February 14, 2018.
He took charge of coaching the Super Eagles in 2015 but resigned on February 26, 2016, exactly a month before they took on the Pharaohs of Egypt in the AFCON qualifiers.
