The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has revealed its plans to persuade Victor Moses out of abrupt international retirement.
Moses, 27, shockingly quit the Super Eagles after last summer’s World Cup in Russia.
In a bid to talk him back to national team football, the NFF will travel to London to meet with the Chelsea star.
This was disclosed by second Vice-President, Shehu Dikko, on Thursday.
”We plan to visit him very soon and have another chat with him. He is part of us, everybody knows that he is a brilliant player, he can play anywhere,” Dikko said.
”He is not playing because he is a bad player, he is not playing because the tactics the team are adopting does not suit him.
”In the old system they were playing, Moses was indispensable, now another coach has come with another system.
”Hopefully by January he’ll get himself sorted, we still need him.”
If Moses makes a U-turn and rescinds his decision to quit international football, Dikko says this will give manager Gernot Rohr more options in attack.
”We need as much as possible enough competition in the national team, the coach (Rohr) needs to have a lot of headache in choosing the first eleven.
”If you have that kind of a headache it means you have a good team, you can see now we have injuries and nobody is panicking.”
