Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, says his team isn’t looking down on Algeria ahead of their 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier on Friday.
Nigeria is already through to the global showpiece from Group B, while Algeria hasn’t managed to win a game thus far in the series.
Yet, Rohr, whose team is currently camping in Rabat, Morocco, believes the test against the Desert Foxes will enable him to examine new additions to his squad.
“All the games are important. It is right that we have already qualified, so the result isn’t the most important. The most important in this game will be to make a good game,” the Franco-German told the team’s official Twitter handle on Wednesday.
“It’s an opportunity to see a lot of players who didn’t play so much in the qualifiers cos we had our team and now we have six injuries. So at least we will make six changes.
“It will be very interesting to play Algeria in this condition. They have a new coach, yet to win a game at home, so they will be very aggressive We have just three days to prepare for the game but we have more opportunity in the second game (against Argentina) to see everybody.”
Rohr appears to be eagerly anticipating the clash with Argentina which comes up four days after in Krasnodar, Russia.
According to the tactician, the game will afford his lads the opportunity of locking horns with one of the best teams in the world as well as have a feel of Russia.
” The game is going to be fantastic cos Argentina is one of the best team in the world with perhaps the best player,” he revealed.
” So we will see what we can do against a South American opponent knowing we will have one in our group at the world cup.
“The second game will also help us see Russia, the atmosphere and also our proposed camp.”
