Super Eagles midfielder, Ogenyi Onazi, has finally tied the nuptial knots with long time fiancée, Sandra Ogunsuyi.
The Lazio star who managed to escape an auto crash on his way from the traditional wedding in Benin City, Edo State, wedded on Saturday at the Rubin Gardens on Lekki Epe Expressway, Lagos State.
Onazi, 23, expressed his happiness to walk down the aisle with his heartthrob notwithstanding several setbacks encountered.
“Today is one of my happiest days for so many reasons,” Eddy, as he is fondly called, told reporters shortly after the solemnisation.
“A day I have been looking forward to and by God’s special grace and divine favour, I am alive to see it come to pass.
“Just yesterday on my way back from the traditional wedding in Benin to Lagos, I had a burst tyre on the highway, so I am the happiest human on earth today. God has been wonderful to me and my family.”
The conjugal bliss, which was one of its kind, had in attendance the crème de la crème in Nigerian football.
Among those present were Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president, Amaju Pinnick, head of its Technical Committee, Christopher Green, Super Eagles coordinator, Dayo Enebi and administrator Chidi Ngoka.
Others present include Equipment Manager and assistant, Chike Owakah and Chike Owakah, not forgetting Toyin Ibitoye, the team’s media officer.
To cheer their colleague, Super Eagles players, Odion Ighalo, Ahmed Musa, John Ogu, Elderson Echiejile, Anthony Ujah, Kenneth Omeruo, Sunday Mba, and Raheem Lawal, were all in attendance.
Onazi was an integral part of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winning squad.
He represented Nigeria at both the U17 and U20 levels before making 38 appearances for the national team.
