Super Eagles duo, Elderson Echiejile and Daniel Akpeyi, ended 2016 on a high after tying the nuptial knot with their beloved beaus.
First to take the bold step was South Africa-based goalkeeper, Akpeyi, who finally wedded long time girlfriend, Eberi-Kalu Emmanuella Uwaeze, on Thursday, December 29 in Abiriba, Abia State.
He was then followed by Standard Liege left-back, Echiejile, who exchanged vows with Oghenevwemo Ziregbe in a glamorous traditional wedding ceremony in Warri, Delta State a day after.
However, both events were grievously marred by the absence of their teammates who were conspicuously missing.
This could be partly due to the busy festive European season, but Super Eagles players were reported to have contributed funds in support of their colleagues.
Echiejile and Akpeyi join the likes of Ogenyi Onazi and Moses Simon as Nigerian footballers to have left bachelorhood in the last one year.
