Super Eagles to face Liberia in international friendly

Nigeria’s Super Eagles will face Liberia in an international friendly in Monrovia next week after the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Seychelles.

Gernot Rohr’s side were originally scheduled to play Saudi Arabia but the fixture was cancelled because of concerns about logistics.

The game against the West African minnows was on request of President George Weah.

A depleted Nigeria squad are hoping to restore their Nations Cup hopes.

Besides the retired Victor Moses, skipper Mikel Obi, Alex Iwobi, Ola Aina, William Troost-Ekong and Shehu Abdullahi are unavailable for both games.

Tuesday’s match in Liberia will follow the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Seychelles in Victoria on Saturday.

The team then go into a qualification double-header against Libya in October.
