Super Eagles of Nigeria on Wednesday departed Nigeria for Cote d’Ivoire where the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) will be held.
The team dressed in uniform for their departure. Their attires reflected Nigeria’s green and white colours.
Several players, including captain Ahmed Musa and vice William Troost-Ekong, have shared photos of their departure on social media.
Nigeria will play in Group A, where they will square up against Equatorial Guinea, host Cote d’Ivoire and also Guinea-Bissau.
The Super Eagles on Tuesday had a dinner with Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
The team arrived at the State House in Marina about 10pm.
President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Ibrahim Gusau and his immediate predecessor, Amaju Pinnick, as well as former Nigeria international and Green Eagles captain Segun Odegbami and several other board members of the NFF were there.
Coach Jose Peseiro and other members of the technical team were also in attendance at the event.
