Super Falcons midfielder Ngozi Okobi has welcomed her first child.
The 30-year-old, who got married on December 9, 2017, to Okeoghene in Delta State, broke the news on Tuesday on social media.
“Congratulations to me. #godbepraised #iamamother #newmom. I am in my new season, #NSPPD,” the former Elskiltun of Sweden midfielder wrote, along with photos of her baby bump.
The birth of the child comes seven years after Okobi got married.
She played for Nigeria at the 2010 U-17 Women’s World Cup, the 2010 WAFCON, the 2012 FIFA U-20 World Cup, the 2014, 2016 2018, and 2022 WAFCON tournaments, and played at the 2015 and 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Okobi was excluded from the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup squad by former coach Randy Waldrum and hasn’t returned to the national team since then.
