The Supreme Court on Thursday upheld Prof. Charles Soludo as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for the November 6 polls.
Justice Mary Odili led a five-man panel in the unanimous judgement. It also affirmed Victor Oye as chairman of the party.
Kano State division of the Court of Appeal had validated the primary election that produced Soludo.
According to the Supreme Court, the appellate court was right when it quashed a Jigawa State High Court judgement that recognised another primary election conducted by a faction of APGA led by Jude Okeke.
The apex court held that it was clear that the appellant engaged in abuse of judicial process and fined him N1 million.
According to the justices, the subject matter of the suit bordered on the internal matters of a political party.
They also berated the judge of the Jigawa High Court for accepting to hear the suit that was outside his jurisdiction.
