Suspected kidnapper of the mother of Nigerian footballer, Samuel Kalu, has been arrested.
Abia police commissioner, Ene Okon, said the IGP Response and Surveillance Team from Abayi Police Division, during manhunt for the abductors arrested Chibuike Sunday, the supposed leader of the syndicate.
Juliet Kalu was kidnapped in March while driving with some of her children in the Okpulu Umuobo area of Aba in Abia State.
She was later rescued by the police.
Mr Okon said the suspect had confessed to a number of kidnappings within Aba metropolis, including that of the Bordeaux winger’s mother.
He added that police officers were making efforts to apprehend other members of the gang.
Also, he said two other suspects, Joseph Ezema and Uche Anthony, had been arrested by the IGP Response Team and policemen from Aba Area Command for alleged kidnapping of a woman, Chizoba Ogbonna.
