The suspended former Deputy National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Victor Giadom, has declared the party’s ongoing governorship primary in Edo as illegal.
Mr Giadom wrote in a letter to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) asking it not to recognise the primary.
According to him, his leadership did not authorise the conduct of the exercise.
Giadom had last week declared himself the party’s acting national chairman following a Court of Appeal judgement which upheld the order by a lower court suspending the APC national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, from his role.
The APC former national scribe was on Sunday suspended by the party’s Rivers State chapter over alleged acts of gross infractions of the party’s constitution.
