A tanker explosion which occurred on Tuesday night along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway has stalled traffic in several parts of Lagos.
Commuters and motorists have been left stranded on Wednesday around Berger, Omole, Ikeja, Ojota, Ikorodu Road, among others.
Frustrated Lagosians have shared their stories on Twitter.
I got home at 1 am, slept for 4hours and back on the same road. Lagos-Ibadan blocked, ogunusi road blocked, Berger blocked.

I'm still expected to be productive at work today and go the extra mile in discharging my duties.

A fuel tanker had an accident around 11pm last night on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

Making it the 4th in less than two weeks, causing hectic traffic around Ojodu-Berger (in English, no vehicle has moved from a spot since 5am.)
But bikes and keke is the problem, right?
I entered night bus last night going to Abuja, departed around 10pm from maza maza, right now I’m still in Lagos! Lagos-Ibadan express road is blocked

Lagos Ibadan express road alone has caused so much traffic to all roads leading to Ikeja today pic.twitter.com/HMjtJt8A0A

Berger/Lagos-Ibadan express way is not looking nice at all and I’m sure in no time the traffic will instead into 3rd mainland bridge.

Vehicles are standstill from Gbagada
I pity those traveling, the rest go back home and call your office
This is Ojodu Berger area of Lagos today Wed. 26/2/2020. The traffic on Lagos-Ibadan outward Lagos is terrifying. No LSBL, no commercial Danfo to take passengers going to 7up, Ojota, Iyana Oworo etc.@atiku_lagos @TrafficChiefNG @jidesanwoolu @followlastma pic.twitter.com/YKLbKTpd73

Best time OPay would have been beneficial to lagosians. The likes of Ikeja Ojodu Lagos Ibadan expressway is currently a mental torture. Sanwo Olu is basically sleeping.

This is the only solution to traffic in Lagos.

I have said it countless times, Lagos is badly planned such that any break down on the Lagos Ibadan expressway would affect Ikeja, Ojodu Berger, Ogba, Ojota, Ikorodu Rd.
It's one way traffic. pic.twitter.com/EoarwKYwjB
Why is it taking Berger so long to complete the Lagos-Ibadan express way? They’re also very complicit in this alleged road construction scam. A truck of fuel stays so long in a hot area, the fuel gets expanded & explodes. It’s going to keep happening till they complete the works
