Beauty entrepreneur Tara Durotoye has countered a post by the founder of Genevieve Magazine Betty Irabor on Instagram.
Over the weekend, Mrs Irabor wrote: “Dear ‘Men of God’, can u pls stop asking people to pray for solutions to Nigeria’s current economic crisis? How about you actually becoming answered prayers by opening food banks, blood bank, soup kitchens, shelter and dispensaries for your members.”
Irabor was reacting to a statement by clergyman Pastor Enoch Adeboye during the Redeemed Christian Church of God’s February thanksgiving service on Sunday, February 4 at the Throne of Grace Parish in Ebute Meta, Lagos.
Adeboye asked the congregation to pray to God over the rising exchange rate.

Reacting to her friend Irabor’s post, Mrs Durotoye said churches do not make it public when they do charitable works.
She added that her own pastor Paul Adefarasin of House on the Rock Church also does it.
“Let me start by saying that churches generally do not publicize when they do this. This is My first post for the year but needed to post this here,” she wrote on Instagram on Tuesday.
