Emmanuel TV, the broadcast channel of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) founded by the late Prophet TB Joshua, on Friday, March 8 clocked 18.
Celebrating on Instagram, the SCOAN expressed its thanks to God and its partners for the channel’s success.
The post read, “Hurrah – Emmanuel TV turns 18 years old! For sure, it could only have been God! And indeed, God Almighty has worked through you, our dear viewer and partner, who have been with us through thick and thin!
“On this 18th anniversary of Emmanuel, our leader, Pastor Evelyn Joshua, wishes to express our collective gratitude to you for all that you have done and continue to do! May your labour of love never be in vain, in Jesus’ name!”
Emmanuel TV has since transitioned from pay TV broadcast to online.
On January 28, 2024, SCOAN launched an Android app for Emmanuel TV.

This came less than two weeks after the channel stopped airing on Multichoice’s pay TV platforms DStv and GOtv.
Although Multichoice and SCOAN did not publicly disclose the reason for discontinuing the channel, QEDNG learnt that Multichoice took the move because of poor viewership.
On January 29, YouTube shut down Emmanuel TV weeks after the BBC in partnership with openDemocracy published a documentary showing some former disciples of Joshua who made various allegations against him including rape, forced abortion, staged miracles and torture.
In a comment to the BBC, the Google-owned video-sharing platform said the channel was “terminated for violating… hate speech policies.”
This is the third anniversary that Emmanuel TV would be celebrating since 2006 without Joshua who died on June 5, 2021.
