Emmanuel TV, the cable television arm of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), has announced it is leaving pay-tv platforms such as DStv and GOtv.
The church announced this on its social media pages on December 26, 2023.
“Accessing Emmanuel TV is about to become more versatile, more convenient, and more reliable! Emmanuel TV will no longer air on DStv and GOtv (DTH & DTT) from the 17th of January 2024 at 10:59pm GMT +1, and subsequently on all other pay cable tv platforms,” the church said.
The SCOAN, founded by the late Prophet TB Joshua, did not give reasons for its action.
The church advised the public to watch its programmes through free-to-air high-definition decoders, the internet, and social media.
Emmanuel TV is one of the top Christian broadcasting channels in Africa reaching millions of people across the world with its services.
Founded on March 8, 2006, Emmanuel TV is now 17 years old.
On December 30, 2023, Germany’s Deutsche Welle also stopped broadcasting on Multichoice’s platforms as a linear TV channel, choosing to go digital.
