The remains of the founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) Prophet TB Joshua have arrived at the church after a moment at the Prayer Mountain located at Isheri Osun, Lagos.
In a live video obtained from the BBC, just before the remains were conveyed to the church, security officials were spotted around the highly tensed, rainy mountain environment as an entourage followed the hearse. The remains of the prophet laid in a white and gold engraved casket.
No access was granted to enter the Prayer Mountain or to touch the ambulance which conveyed the casket. A crowd stood at a reasonable distance to get a look at the casket.
The quick stopover at the mountain would serve as the last time the body of the prophet will visit the environment before his internment. A decorated memorial stand could also be spotted a few meters from where the Mercedes ambulance parked at the entrance of the Prayer Mountain.
After over 50 minutes at the Prayer Mountain, the remains of the cleric set on to the SCOAN headquarters as a mammoth crowd gathered in the streets to watch the convoy pass through.
Traffic flowed gently as the church had earlier promised to work with the Lagos State Government to ensure safety protocols were observed at all points, members of LASTMA, FRSC, Lagos neighborhood watch were on ground to direct the flow of traffic and maintain law and order.
“Goodbye Prophet, Rest in peace,” screamed one bystander close to the ambulance as others paused to take pictures and videos of the convoy en-route the church headquarters.
The week-long funeral began on July 5 exactly one month after the cleric’s death on Saturday, June 5.
