The lying-in-state of the founder of Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) Prophet TB Joshua has commenced with a procession through the Ikotun area of Lagos on Thursday, June 8.
Security operatives and church officials formed a human barricade to prevent the mammoth crowd from swarming the motorcade carrying the remains of the cleric. A procession led by trumpeters and a band played as the motorcade made its way into the church entrance amidst shouts and screams from mourners.
Arriving the church premises, Joshua’s remains were greeted by officials of SCOAN who lined up at the entrance to receive the body of the prophet. Thereafter, a glass casket was conveyed into the church as the family of the cleric and his disciples followed the remains into the crystalline memorial stand. Joshua’s wife, Evelyn, could be spotted wiping tears.
The programme started and first to pay respect to the cleric were his family, Evelyn Joshua, Joshua’s children- Serah, Promise and Heart and in-law Brian Moshi as they observed some minutes of meditative privacy with the body of their beloved.
Next to pay respect were SCOAN prophets and prophetesses as they stood in meditation before the public was given access to view the corpse of the man who founded the Synagogue Church of all Nations.
People from all walks of life gathered at the church to participate in the week-long funeral of the prophet which kicked off on Monday, July 5. As promised the funeral service is been broadcast live on Emmanuel TV.
Earlier, Joshua’s remains made a stopover at the SCOAN Prayer Mountain where a crowd had gathered in the early hours of the day wanting to catch a glimpse of the cleric for the last time. The preacher will be laid to rest on Friday, July 9.
