Police have arraigned a teenage boy, Sodiq Ogunsola, at Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly stabbing a man in the eye with a screwdriver.
The 18-year-old boy, arraigned on Friday, is a resident of 3 Agbedeyi Street, Orile-Agege, Lagos.
Police prosecutor, Ishola Samuel, told the court that the defendant had on April 21, at Soretire Junction, Agege, Lagos stabbed the complainant, Blessing Adeyemo, with a screwdriver over an argument.
“It was during the argument that Ogunsola brought out the screwdriver from his pocket and stabbed Adeyemo in his right eye,” Mr Samuel said.
The offence, he added, contravened Section 173 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015.
Ogunsola could be facing up to three years imprisonment if convicted.
Magistrate A.R. Onilogbo granted the defendant bail in the sum of N10,000 with one surety in like sum.
The case was adjourned until May 27 for mention.
