Tekno is not in South Africa, Mr Eazi debunks rumour of collapse

Singer Mr Eazi

Singer and music executive Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade, popularly known as Mr Eazi, has dismissed rumours circulating online that Afrobeats singer Tekno collapsed on stage in South Africa.

A viral video showing an unidentified man collapsing on stage sparked speculation on Tuesday, with many assuming the man was Tekno.

The clip, which shows the man being assisted by security operatives after collapsing on stage, spread quickly across social media, causing a frenzy among fans and followers.

The rumours caught the attention of Mr Eazi, who took to his X account (formerly known as Twitter) to clarify the situation.

He stated that Tekno is currently in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, and not in South Africa, as the rumours suggest. He wrote, “Lmao Tekno wey dey Malabo.”

Tekno’s Instagram post, shared on Monday, also supports Mr. Eazi’s claim.

The post features several pictures of Tekno in Malabo, along with the caption, “Thank you Malabo.”

Recalls that Tekno and Mr. Eazi recently joined forces, with Tekno’s Cartel Music label entering a joint venture with Mr. Eazi’s emPawa Africa.

Tekno serves as both an investor and a partner.
