Singer Teni could not hold back her tears after Cote d’Ivoire defeated Nigeria at the 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The Eagles were beaten 2-1 by the Elephants at the Alassane Quattara Olympic Stadium in Abidjan on Sunday night.
Franck Kessie and Sebastien Haller scored to hand the trophy to the host.
Like her fellow Nigerians, Teni took to her Instagram account to lament the defeat against the Super Eagles.
The 31-year-old posted a video of herself on Instagram crying over the loss while asking for oxygen as she playfully joked about not being able to breathe.
“Ivory Coast, you think you can embarrass me? I needed oxygen, somebody, please. Ivory Coast, let me not say it will not coast for you. I am feeling decapsulated, my chest, my nyash, yeh,” Teni said in the video.
