Singer, Teni, has expressed her excitement at Canadian pop star, Drake, following her sister, Niniola, on photo and media sharing app, Instagram.
Niniola, 32, announced that the man with almost 56 million followers was following her on Monday.
“Imagine Waking Up in the Morning to find out Drake Just followed U…Hmmmm Dis Isolo girl Sha!!! i followed back immediately @champagnepapi Welcome,” she wrote.
Her sister and fellow musician, Teni, also shared a message of support, she wrote: “Congratulations to the APATA FAMILY!!! Drake Oluwa champagne papi is now following my sister @officialniniola on IG. I will be sending invitation card for the party. Thanks and God bless. Number 9 APATA gang!!”
Niniola became the first Nigerian female act to gain over one million listeners on music streaming app, Spotify, in August 2018.
The ‘Maradona’ singer situates her music in a genre called AfroHouse- a blend of AfroBeat and House music.
She currently has 507k followers on Instagram.
Her younger sister has 1.2million followers.
Teni and Niniola are the children of retired Brigadier-General Simeon Apata, who was assassinated on January 8, 1995.
He was the founder of Apata Memorial School, an elite military-style private boarding school in Lagos, founded in 1980.
Niniola and Teniola both attended the school.
