Singer Teni the Entertainer was given a hero’s welcome on a visit to Iye Ekiti, her town of origin.
The 28-year-old posted a video of the visit, during which she met the monarch and received an award of recognition, on Instagram on Monday.
“I went back to my father’s root in Iye, Ekiti state,” she captioned the video.
Born Teniola Apata, Teni is the daughter of Brigadier General Simeon Apata who founded the famous Apata Memorial High School in 1980.
The retired military officer was assassinated on January 8, 1995.
Teni’s older sister Niniola Apata is also a singer.
