Singer Teniola Apata, popularly known as Teni, has called for justice for uncles and aunts who bear the burden of caring for children that are not their own.
In an Instagram post on Tuesday, Teni addressed parents who shield themselves from responsibilities but put the burden on relatives.
She began, “All these people wey don born, wey dey go dey complain everyday.
“I no follow you enjoy all the things wey you enjoy use born that pikin.
“I was not there. In fact, I didn’t even know, I had no clue. Una born pikin finish una come leave the pikin for us aunty and uncle make we dey suffer.
“Were we there? It was all you. Please please handle your responsibility.”
She urged parents to take responsibility for their actions and stop coming online to rant about the challenges of parenthood.
The post which tagged Tobi Bakre was captioned, “On behalf of uncles and aunties association!!!! Please we were not there.”
Her video was a response to a clip Tobi Bakre shared on his Instagram page earlier on Tuesday, where he complained about his son’s unrelenting demands, accusing the child of being “manipulative”.
