Actress Bimbo Afolayan has expressed her appreciation to her husband, film producer Okiki Afolayan as they celebrate their 6th wedding anniversary.
Taking to her Instagram on Sunday, Bimbo shared a post reflecting on their journey together and thanking her husband for making marriage a beautiful experience.
Accompanying a loved up photo, Bimbo penned a lengthy note recounting their six years together.
She highlighted how they weathered false rumours and public scrutiny but stayed true to their love and faith in God which has continued to strengthen their union.
“Six years ago! This picture was taken six years ago,” Bimbo wrote.
“We saw and heard a lot on tabloids and blogs, but we didn’t waver. We followed our hearts, and God made our home so beautiful. Every day, we thank God for blessing our love, and it keeps growing stronger.”
She continued by expressing her gratitude for finding a perfect partner in her “imperfect” husband.
“I said yes to my man – the imperfect man who is perfect for me, the one God handpicked for me. I am happy. We are happy. We are blessed. Oluwaseun.”
Bimbo described Okiki as her best friend and her “sun and moon,” celebrating the strength of their relationship.
“You’re my everything. Even after all these years, my love for you grows more each day. Thank you for picking me. I don’t know how I got so lucky.”
She ended her note with a declaration of love, “You’re everything I’ve ever wanted and needed in a partner. Thank you for loving me. Happy anniversary to us @okikiafolayan.”
Okiki Afolayan also shared a message in honour of their anniversary, posting a photo of the couple and expressing his love and appreciation for Bimbo.
“Hmm, six years gone. Happy wedding anniversary to me and mine. Six years and still counting. Thank you for making it easy, Ifemi @bimboafolayan. I will choose you over and over again. I love you forever.”
The couple tied the knot in October 2018. They welcomed their first child in 2020 and their second in 2022.
