Actor Lateef Adedimeji has expressed gratitude to his fans after his film Lisabi: The Uprising emerged as one of 2024’s most-searched Nigerian movies.

Taking to Instagram late Sunday, the 40-year-old reflected on the film’s success, saying, “Grateful beyond words! Lisabi: The Uprising has become one of 2024’s most-searched Nigerian films, and we couldn’t have done it without your love and support.

“The journey isn’t over—Lisabi: A Legend is Born premieres January 10 on Netflix. Get ready for the next chapter!”

Lateef emphasised that the journey is far from over as he urged fans to anticipate the sequel, Lisabi: A Legend is Born, premiering on January 10, 2025.

The actor’s wife, Mo Bimpe, also celebrated the milestone earlier, noting how data confirms the film’s impact. She expressed her pride in being recognized in the 2024 filmmaking conversation.

Lisabi: The Uprising has enjoyed widespread acclaim since its release, returning to Netflix’s top 10 movies list last week. Lateef credited his wife, his production team, and fans for the film’s continued success, vowing not to disappoint with the upcoming sequel.

Executive-produced by Lateef Adedimeji and directed by Niyi Akinmolayan, Lisabi: The Uprising is the first installment in the epic saga.

The film’s story was penned by Niyi Akinmolayan and Yinka Olaoye, with production handled by Al Notions Studios in collaboration with Anthill Studios.

The sequel, Lisabi: A Legend Is Born, promises to build on the foundation of the original, featuring a star-studded cast including Femi Adebayo, Odunlade Adekola, Ibrahim Yekini (Itele), Mo Bimpe, Eniola Ajao, Liquorose Afije, Ibrahim Chatta and Lateef Adedimeji.
