The Television segment of the 69th British Film and Television Awards (BAFTA) took place on Sunday night and a host of A-list celebrities were present to grace the grand ceremony. But like we all know, no show is complete without a little drama.
Few months ago, Hollywood star, Idris Elba, was believed to have separated from his girlfriend and mother of his two-year-old son, Naiyana Garth, but they were spotted together holding hands on the 2016 BAFTA red carpet all smiles for the camera.
It was said that the Beast of No Nations star had moved out of their family home in South-West London, and into a rented flat nearby as a result of his alleged infidelity but that does not seem to be the case anymore.
American musician and actor, Justin Timberlake, also managed to cause outrage after he and fellow actress, Anna Kendrick, admitted to have never watched any of the shows nominated for the award they were about to present.
This resulted in a social media outcry on the incompetence of the BAFTA in selecting the award presenters and blasting Justin and Anna on their lack of professionalism.
Also, it would also seem that the famous talent show, Britain’s Got Talent, has lost its buzz as dancing competition show Strictly Come Dancing beat it to take home its first ever TV BAFTA for Best Entertainment Programme.
Strictly Come Dancing host, Tess Daly, said they were “genuinely shocked” as she took to the stage to collect the award saying, “This is the most incredible honour, we have never won a BAFTA before and it honestly means the world to all of us so thank you to everybody at BAFTA.”
