Minister of state for labour and employment Festus Keyamo has urged a former deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria Kingsley Moghalu to join the All Progressives Congress (APC) after the latter announced his resignation from the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Moghalu announced his resignation from ADC on Monday, stating infractions during the presidential primary which he contested as his reason for leaving the party.
In his letter to the ADC national chairman, Moghalu said his distaste for “cash-and-carry” politics is the reason he has refused to join the APC or the Peoples Democratic Party.
However, reacting to his announcement, Mr Keyamo said in a tweet that the former CBN executive should have realised that ADC and other parties seen as the Third Force are only Nigerians who have not been tested.
He said, “My own dear brother, @MoghaluKingsley, you’ve just seen that the so-called Third Force are just some untested Nigerians who may just be worse off.
“They’re not from the moon; they’re NIGERIANS. It’s all sound & fury & nothing more. Welcome to the REAL WORLD. Please, join us in APC.”
Moghalu is yet to announce his next step. He left the Young Progressive Party after losing the presidential election to President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019.
