Three female passengers were on Friday burnt to death in an auto accident along the Abuja-Lokoja road.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Sector Commander in the FCT, Susan Ajenge, confirmed the report to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Abuja.
Ms. Ajenge said the accident involved a Peugeot 505 Station Wagon and a Toyota Corolla.
She said the two vehicles burst into flames after crashing into each other near the SHEDA Research Centre at Yan-Goji, Kwalli area council in the FCT.
The commander attributed the mishap to dangerous overtaking and warned motorist against reckless driving.
Bodies of the burnt victims have been deposited at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital (UATH), Gwagwalada, where survivors are also receiving treatment, she said.
Ms. Ajenge urged relatives to check for their loved ones at the UATH.
