TikToker Habeeb Hamzat popularly known as Peller has withdrawn his plea for N30 million to cover the supposed expenses for his friend Jarvis AI’s surgery for mouth tumour.
Early Monday, a video circulated widely showing Peller making an appeal to the public, seeking financial support for Jarvis.
He claimed that over N30 million would be needed for her surgery and announced that he had opened a GoFundMe account in her name.
However, Peller’s plea quickly took over social media with many users questioning the sincerity of his request.
Some netizens suggested he sell his new Lexus SUV to help fund Jarvis’ medical expenses, while others accused him of exploiting her for financial gain.
In a new development, Peller said Jarvis was fine and didn’t need the money.
Appearing alongside Jarvis in his new car, he said she does not need a “kobo”.
“Listen, yesterday I was on a live video, just joking. Jarvis is fine; she doesn’t need a kobo. Calm down,” he said, laughing.
Jarvis, who was seen in the video, confirmed her well-being, adding that the initial video was only a joke.
Last week, Jarvis expressed concerns about the swelling on her left cheek and sought recommendations for medical facilities abroad to assess her condition.
