Singer Timi Dakolo on Friday, January 20 celebrated his birthday while soliciting funds for an ailing friend of his.
In an Instagram post, the songwriter who clocked 42 revealed that his friend identified as Tari was battling kidney issues and she needed surgery urgently.
Sharing pictures of her condition, he appealed to his followers to help financially as she was getting really worse.
Stating that it was his birthday wish, he wrote “Hello everyone. It’s my birthday and I only wish for and want one thing. I have this close friend that is really really sick. She has kidney issues and it’s really getting worse. She needs surgery urgently. Please if you can assist financially. Thank you all and God bless you.”
Speaking further, Dakolo revealed that his friend was a significant part of his music career saying “My only birthday wish Is to help the girl who use you to drag me to choir practice and let me borrow her walkman to learn songs. A very significant part of my music life.”
He also dropped her account details in his post.
Celebrities and followers of the singer took to the comment section to wish him and also drop words of prayers for Tari.
Timi’s wife, Busola Dakolo wrote “happy birthday!!!! Taribulou my dear, God will step into the situation and heal you in Jesus’ name!!! Amen!”
Singer Nikki Laoye wrote: “Happy Birthday dear @timidakolo God bless you more as you add a new year today Amen. God’s healing hands are upon Tari, Amen.”
