Nollywood actor, Timini Egbuson, has stated that though he is not a fan of cancel culture, he is tempted to cancel singer, D’banj, if the rape allegation against him and his subsequent handling of the case, turns out to be a publicity stunt.
The 33-year-old stated his position on the matter in a tweet he shared on Thursday.
“I’m normally against cancel culture but Dbanj is cancelled in my books for real if this all some sort of publicity stunt,” he wrote.
Olamide Omileye, a lawyer representing Seyitan Babatayo, who accused D’banj of raping her in December 2018, on Wednesday told the Premium Times Newspapers that his client was arrested, intimidated, and coerced into withdrawing her statement.
“They forced her to make those new tweets when she was in custody. They forced her to delete all her tweets and intimidated the hell out of her life,” he told the paper.
