Actor Timini Egbuson’s Valentine’s Day film, Reel Love, has continued its record-breaking run, emerging as the highest-grossing Nollywood film for three consecutive weekends with a total of N223.7 million at the box office.
Timini shared the news in an Instagram post on Monday, expressing gratitude for the film’s success. “This project is a miracle. One day I’ll tell the story. For now, all glory be to God, the amazing people I have in my corner and the fans/supporters that have showed up and showed out for me. #ReelLove still going ,” he wrote.
Just a week earlier, FilmOne had announced that the romantic comedy had grossed N167.2 million in two weeks.
The company shared a promotional poster celebrating the milestone with the caption, “Only up from here! Reel Love has grossed over N167 million and counting! Thank you for showing this movie your love and support.”
Co-produced by FilmOne Studios and distributed by FilmOne Entertainment, Reel Love had a strong start, earning N99.3 million during its opening weekend from February 14 to 16.
Despite its impressive performance, it trailed behind Captain America, which grossed approximately N121.7 million within the same period.
Released on February 14, the film follows the story of a popular relationship influencer, Tomide Jobi (played by Timini Egbuson), who clashes with a strong-willed woman, Rita Monday.
It features a star-studded cast including Atlanta Bridget Johnson, Funke Akindele, Hermes Iyele, Bimbo Ademoye, Chico Aligwekwe, Dakore Akande and Efa Iwara.
Reel Love grossed N107.55 million within its first five days and became the first Nollywood film in 2025 to surpass N200 million in just 10 days, outperforming competitors like Summer Rain and Something About the Briggs.
