National leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Bola Tinubu on Friday returned to Nigeria nearly three months after his medical trip to the United Kingdom.
Tinubu had undergone knee surgery and had physiotherapy sessions to aid his recuperation.
The former Lagos governor was received at the airport by the incumbent Babajide Sanwo-Olu who recently inaugurated the South-West Agenda 2023 (SWAGA ’23), a group rooting for Tinubu as the APC presidential candidate for the 2023 election.
It was learnt that Tinubu arrived in Lagos unannounced, two days earlier than his reported plan to return to the country.
His media office confirmed his arrival in Nigeria in a statement.
“He has returned fully healed from the knee surgery and fully committed to doing his modest part of advancing the cause of progressive democratic good governance throughout our beloved nation,” the statement read.
While in London, the APC leader was visited by President Muhammadu Buhari, governors, state and federal lawmakers among others.
