President-elect Bola Tinubu on Sunday expressed support for chef Hilda Baci as she attempts to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking time.
Baci began her four-day ‘cook-a-thon’ on Thursday, May 11 at Amore Gardens, Lekki, Lagos State. She will wrap up on Sunday.
Tinubu noted in an Instagram post that Nigerians are rooting for her.
“IDAN doesn’t break, she breaks records. We’re rooting for you, Hilda,” he wrote.
The president-elect, who will be sworn in on May 29, shared a screenshot of the chef’s marathon cooking live session on Instagram Story.
‘Idan’ is a trending slang on social media, used to hail someone with exceptional capabilities and prowess.
Meanwhile, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo put a phone call through to Baci to cheer her on.
The chef shared a video of herself on Instagram story receiving Osinbajo’s call.
Several celebrities have been throwing their weights behind Baci after she began the marathon cooking. On Sunday, actor IK Ogbonna and actress Nancy Isime were at the venue.
The current record for the world’s longest cooking marathon is held by Lata Tondon who completed the task in 87 hours, 45 minutes, and 00 secs in Rewa, India in 2019.
