President Bola Tinubu has congratulated former minister of works and housing Babatunde Fashola on his 61st birthday.
Fashola was Tinubu’s chief of staff when the latter was governor of Lagos State.
Fashola himself was elected governor of Lagos State in 2007 and was in the position for two terms just like Tinubu.
After handing over to Babajide Sanwo-Olu in 2015, Fashola was selected to join the cabinet of former President Muhammadu Buhari as minister of power, works and housing.
In 2019, Buhari named him minister of works and housing, appointing another as minister of power.
Tinubu, in a statement issued on Saturday by his spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, joined family, friends, and well-wishers to celebrate Fashola.
While thanking Fashola for his fervent services to the nation, Tinubu prayed for many more years in good health for him and his family, as well as for renewed vigour as an active voice and stakeholder in building a greater Nigeria.
“The President joins family, friends, and well-wishers to celebrate one of Nigeria’s most gifted minds on this special occasion,” the statement read.
