National leader of the All Progressives Congress Bola Tinubu met with President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday morning at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The meeting which began at 11 am lasted for about an hour.
Tinubu told State House reporters that he met the president to thank him for visiting in August while he (Tinubu) was recuperating after undergoing knee surgery in the United Kingdom.
“I came to thank President Muhammadu Buhari for visiting me in London when I had knee surgery. He demonstrated empathy. He is an exceptional leader,” said Tinubu.
The APC bigwig had met two days ago with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo also at the Villa.
Tinubu visited Buhari alone unlike the past where he goes with the pioneer interim chairman of the APC Bisi Akande.
The visit also came a few hours after the main opposition party the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) concluded its convention at the Eagle Square, Abuja.
