President Bola Tinubu on Friday morning returned to Nigeria after three days in France.

His aircraft arrived at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja around 2:25 am, according to PUNCH.

On Thursday, the president’s spokesman Ajuri Ngelale said Tinubu would swear in the new Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, at the Council Chambers of the State House.

The president “will swear in Justice Ariwoola’s successor at the State House Council Chambers on August 23, 2024,” Mr Ngelale said.

Ariwoola retired on Thursday after attaining the age of 70.

His retirement leaves Kekere-Ekun as the most senior justice of the Supreme Court. At 66, she is expected to remain CJN until her retirement in 2028.
