President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to grace the groundbreaking ceremony of FirstBank’s new green-certified Iconic Head Office Building in Eko Atlantic City, Lagos.
The event marks a major milestone in the bank’s over 130-year history and signals the start of a transformative journey in the Nigerian financial sector.
A statement made available to QEDNG by the bank on Wednesday morning said ambitious 40-storey skyscraper, poised to become Nigeria’s tallest building, will be a showcase of cutting-edge engineering and environmental innovation.
Designed with sustainability in mind, the eco-friendly structure will set new standards for the African financial services industry, highlighting FirstBank’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and sustainable banking practices.
According to Olusegun Alebiosu, CEO of FirstBank Group, the new headquarters represents the bank’s forward-looking vision.
“We are proud to mark this significant milestone in our journey towards excellence. Our new Head Office is envisioned as a world-class structure that represents our dedication to innovation, customer satisfaction, and sustainability. We believe that this development will play a crucial role in fostering economic growth and development across Africa, creating long-term value for all our stakeholders,” Mr Alebiosu said.
Femi Otedola, Cchairman of FirstHoldCo, underscored the importance of collaboration in bringing the vision to life.

We appreciate the unrelenting support from our customers and stakeholders as we work together to turn this vision into reality,” Mr Otedola noted.
The ceremony will bring together prominent dignitaries, including federal lawmakers, state governors, ministers, and captains of industry.
