President-General of the Association of Commodity Market Women and Men of Nigeria, Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, has denied appointing rival male market leader known as Babaloja in Ladipo auto parts market, Mushin, Lagos.
Two groups, Lagos State Auto-Parts Dealers Association (LASAPDA), Mushin zone and Concerned Citizens and Stakeholders of Papa Ajao/Ladipo Community, had alleged that a trader had begun parading himself as Babaloja of the market.
They had also written to the Lagos State House of Assembly and Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs, saying that Babaloja of the market, Oladotun Abibu-Oki, who was installed by the late Abibatu Mogaji in 2011, was being harassed and intimidated by a rival association established by non-indigenes.
Mrs Tinubu-Ojo, daughter of All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and former governor of Lagos, Bola Tinubu, told journalists on Thursday that she had not installed a rival market leader.
She said the person in question was only appointed to oversee a section of the market.
Tinubu-Ojo said the matter would soon receive proper attention to restore peace in the market.
