Singer Tiwa Savage has revealed a threat by someone to release her sex tape if she does not pay an undisclosed amount of money.
The singer made this known in an interview with a radio host shared on Friday.
According to the 41-year-old, she received a message with a video of her sex tape with her partner, and the blackmailer is threatening to release the tape if she does not pay up.
“Yesterday I was leaving a radio station, I’m in my car, my road manager sent me messages and say ‘yo check your phone’, so I checked it and I’m like ‘waow where did you get it from?’ and he was like ‘I just got it a few minutes ago’ and Its a tape of me and the person I’m dating right now,” she said.
When asked why she was so calm about the situation, Tiwa revealed that the blackmailer is asking for money and she is not going to give in to their demands.
“So the first thing I got off the phone and I sent it to my manager and she was like ‘oh my God’ and I’m like what are we gonna do?’ So the person is asking for money now and my Manager was like ‘how much are they asking for?’
“So I woke up and I was like ‘No, I’m not’ because I paid now and then two months down the line you’re gonna come back again and then two years later and then who knows even if I do send you the money, you probably would release it anyway, I’m not going to allow anyone to blackmail me for doing something that is so natural,” she said.
